PROCESS

Research
I design with a systematic approach that begins with obsessive research and ends with a finished product that all are proud of.
I believe that if you want to create something exceptional, you must have a thorough understanding of everything that already exists in the market. Establishing this baseline is how you can set higher standards and goals for your end result.
Keeping an up-to-date awareness for and carefully studying the “best” is how you can make your product not only better, but 10 times better. I start by studying the market and analyzing fabric, color, styling, bodies, graphic, industry and social trends, as well as identifying the needs and preferences of the target audience.
Inspiration
I search for hidden sources of inspiration where most would not think to. In this way you can assure that your end product will have a completely unique look than others, even if you have to apply a common trend.
For example where function is concerned, I look to industry. The industrial labor industry is known for its durability and robust design, which can be adapted to other products as well. The travel industry can offer inspiration from ones need to have a comfortable journey. The technology industry, on the other hand, is constantly innovating which can inspire to contemplate performance-enhancing technologies. By studying these different industries and looking for connections to fashion, I have developed new ideas and approaches that will help stand out and create products that are both visually appealing and functional.
Design
My systematic approach to design is characterized by a focus on function, quality and an attractive visual aesthetic. Every design must solve a problem or be practical, it must be of the highest quality standard that is appropriate for the budget and lastly it must look good. These 3 factors should take in to consideration the specific brand, market, niche and time, then applied relatively.
While studying and taking advantage of as much contemporary and innovative details as i can, I am very mindful of keeping a timeless aesthetic that will look good and be appropriate for years to come, not just during a trend cycle.
Options
I try to always present a few options for any concept. I believe it’s easier to make a decision when you can use the power of comparison. Narrowing down is a very productive way to achieve a desired result.
I work well with teams and I feed off of diverse input and ideas. I am very curious of others’ views and I use that to establish a more accurate understanding than I would have with my perception alone. In return, I effectively communicate my ideas and present a variety of options for consideration. I am open to feedback and willing to make adjustments and revisions based on the input of colleagues. This collaborative approach can allow for the best possible final product.
Experimenting
Experimentation is crucial step for me in achieving groundbreaking innovations. Wether its stitching 2 existing sale together or sewing a neck pillow on to a previous seasons puffer, or tie dying my personal jacket, hacking and testing crazy ideas is great way to see if some crazy ideas will work or not.
I can also make patterns, alter exiting samples, up-cycle vintage items, deconstruct old samples, or sew a complete sample from scratch.
A note.
As a designer, I believe Its notably very important to know that in current times, a lot of brands/products/designs are not necessarily popular for the strength of the product or design, but because of the attention that the brand or personality behind the brand attracts. As designers, we should not confuse the lack of design, thought or effort that such brands' products have as a design standard or trend to follow. But we should see it for what it is, merch. We should not minimize or stop ourselves from designing strong products. A brand can still have strong product and design even if the main reason for its appeal is an influencer.
